We are sorry to advise that Ron Fergusson (founder of Gate-A-Mation) passed away on the 13th of October. Many of our existing customers will remember Ron fondly for his integrity and his quality standards. Ron was a much liked member of the Adelaide business community, having run a number of Adelaide based companies. Hardly a day has gone by since his retirement, when a customer or friend hasn't asked to be remembered to Ron, or asked for details so they can contact him personally. Gate-A-Mation continues to uphold the values that Ron held so dearly - pride in a job well done, pride in selling the best possible products, and a level of personal integrity to his customers that is anathema to many companies now adays. Ron will be sadly missed, and our thoughts are with his family and friends at this time.
A few of Ron's sayings that will live in our memories:
On sending you to a job out in the boondocks: You've got a nice quiet day in the country.
On hearing bad news about the progress of a job: Everything in my favour is against me.
On the reliability of some products: We've got this automated tape machine now, nothing can go wrong eckk can go wrong eckk can go wrong eckk can go wrong.
On customer X: Oh you'll like Mr "X" - he was a friend of mine from Skid Kids/ Triumph Club/ English Immigrant/ Blair Athol resident/ Thomas & Rowe/ The Building Centre/ his apprenticeship days/ Mr Waterbeds ETC.
Ron endured years of pain from arthritis stoically, he rarely burdened anyone but himself with its effects. Rest in Peace old friend.

We are happy to advise that BFT Italy has established an Australian subsidiary in Sydney. To celebrate the recent visit of Daniele Dal Cengio (BFT Australia's Principal) and our resumption of selling this fine brand we have a number of BFT's systems at very special prices at the moment (until stock runs out). All BFT models are now illustrated on the relevant products pages.

Recent stormy conditions have highlighted the need for decent quality automation products on swing gates particularly. It is days such as these when the wind sorts out automation that will "just do the job" from quality products designed to operate all 365 days of the year. No one ever regrets buying quality, we have however met a few people who probably wouldn't go for the cheapest option again when it comes to automatic gates.
Warranty terms you should probably avoid:
Short warranties (ie 3,6 month) (don't cash converters have longer warranties?)
Parts only warranties (Why are you paying for their problems?)
Warranties issued by manufacturers not by the company you are buying from.
Ebay warranties (good luck with that).

Gate-A-Mation website has been fully rebuilt & optimised for customers trying to find the highest quality (and safest) automation products available. Look out for the EN Tested logo, for a guarantee that you are not buying dangerously inferior goods.

[December, 2007]
The European Union has finally issued a series of laws that clearly regulate the automated access-way sector. Consequently each new installation, or upgrading of existing systems conducted in Europe now requires compliance certification. In Australia automation companies (and backyarders) are still allowed to install grossly unsafe automation products for an unsuspecting customer.
We highly recommend Camè brand automation as the safest and best engineered equipment.
Thanks to a new planning philosophy and to recent, state-of-the-art electronic and mechanical technology developments Camè offers a full range of home, business and public area automation products, which are produced and tested according to rigorous EU Standard criteria. These are the EN Tested products.
