HISTORY
Gate-A-Mation started out as a part time business in 1990 run by Ron Fergusson.
In 1992 demand for automation products had increased sufficiently for Ron to start retailing gate automation equipment full time, and the name Gate-A-Mation was coined to identify the companies core business.
In 1994, dissatisfied with varying standards of installation work from sub contractors, Gate-A-Mation entered into negotiations with Advanced Home Systems P/L (AHSPL), an electrical contracting firm, to be the sole installers of Gate-A-Mation products.
AHSPL continued from 1994 to work side by side with Ron Fergusson until ill health forced him to retire in early 2006. Because of the longstanding arrangement between the two companies, it was decided that AHSPL would purchase Gate-A-Mation outright.
Gate-A-Mation has for many years been the only name that most of Adelaide's leading gate manufacturers will recommend.

MISSION
The company has had a number of different slogans since its inception, but they all reflect the companies mission statement.
One of the early slogans was "Our prices are always the dearest - that's why we have so many satisfied customers". A more recent one is "It is of paramount importance to us that ten years from now, you will still consider that the money you spent with Gate-A-Mation was money well spent. That’s why we have been around for so long".
Our aim is to sell the best possible products, with the best possible backing. They should do the job they were bought to do, in any circumstances. It has been this principle that has lead us to constant improvements over time. If we find a product lets us down, then we no longer sell that product. Many companies undersell us, no-one outdoes us.
